Is this platform actually connected to a real database?
Currently, the application is seeded with highly realistic mock data to simulate an internal VC database. The 'Live Enrichment' feature is fully functional and performs real-time scraping against live URLs.
Where is my data stored when I create lists or notes?
All lists, saved searches, and private notes are stored securely and persistently within your browser's local storage via Zustand. No account creation is required to use these features!
How does the Live Enrichment Engine work?
The /api/enrich endpoint operates strictly on the server side using Next.js route handlers. It navigates to the target URL, grabs the HTML, and parses it with Cheerio to apply heuristic rules (e.g. detecting 'careers' pages) without relying on expensive APIs.
Can I configure an LLM for better enrichment?
Yes! While the engine works beautifully via local text-frequency heuristics, you can add an OPENAI_API_KEY to your .env file to augment the summary extraction process natively.
